EVERY KID
CAN COOK
Two children's films
played a key role
in the genesis
of this
skills-based math and science
culinary program:
Ratatouille and Aladdin.
Because,
Every Kid CAN cook,
and NO KID is a street-rat.
Learning to
cook their own meals,
so they like them,
gives kids
the confidence
and
competence
to
take care of themselves
while learning
organization,
time management,
meal planning,
chemistry,
budgeting
and
interpersonal skills
that extend to meal time
--all while learning
hygiene,
nutrition,
creativity
and
problem-solving,
including
team-work.

of City College.
Using the food court as the future location
of City College's Culinary Program
provides an opportunity to use it
during the longer summer days
to teach students to use math, science,
reading and writing skills to eat
and enjoy their own work,
cooking, in teams.
