The Asian Art Museum

SF Centre

(In the former Nordstrom’s)

and

The de Young East

(In the Emporium Rotunda)

Continuing their walk,

Noah and Emma

made their way

near the new location

of the Asian Art Museum

in the former Nordstrom's

at SF Centre,

its exhibition space

now more than doubled,

to 350,000 square feet,

with its magical curving escalators,

and excited visitors

Immediately Tripling

In Yearly Numbers

of Visitors and Patrons.

Their path takes them past

the SFPD mounted unit

standing across the street

by the sleek

and elegant museum.

The sight of

officers on horseback,

in their classic uniforms,

adds a sense of tradition

and calm

to the cityscape.

As they walk

they admired

the Emporium building,

now housing

in its Rotunda,

on levels 2 & 3,

the location for the

de Young East Museum,

housing the

18th-20th century

American art Collection

The historical architecture

of the Emporium façade

and its Rotunda

contrasted beautifully

with the classical modern

Asian Art Museum building,

creating a unique blend

of old and new

East and West.
